Designer metal consoles and console tables

A console table brings function to narrow walls, hallways and the space behind a sofa without taking over the room. ZinCuTec consoles are individually made in Germany from burnished brass and brushed stainless steel.

Function for narrow spaces

Console tables work where conventional furniture is too deep. They create a surface in hallways, entrances and behind sofas while keeping the route through the room open.

Open forms or concealed storage

ZEN CONSOLE is reduced and architectural, TUKKON CONSOLE creates a more sculptural presence, and YORU adds enclosed storage. The right choice depends on whether display, storage or both are needed.

Standard sizes and bespoke dimensions

Each console is handcrafted in Germany from brass or stainless steel. Individual lengths, finishes and project-specific solutions can be requested directly from the workshop.

Frequently asked questions

How deep should a console table be?

In narrow hallways, 30 to 35 cm helps keep the passage clear. Behind a sofa or in a dining room, 40 to 45 cm works well when more surface space is needed. TUKKON CONSOLE at 40 cm suits both situations.

What is the difference between a console and a sideboard?

A console is open and mainly provides a surface. A sideboard has a closed body with doors or drawers for concealed storage. Both stand against a wall but differ clearly in function and visual weight.

Does a console table need to be fixed to the wall?

The models are freestanding and do not require wall fixing in normal use. Their weight provides stability. As with any tall furniture, an additional safety fixing can still be sensible in homes with small children.

How much weight can a metal console hold?

More than is normally placed on it, but the exact load depends on the model, so we do not give one general figure. For particularly heavy objects, we check the intended load for the specific piece before ordering.

Can I order a console in a specific length?

Yes. This is the most common bespoke request for consoles. We need the wall length plus the desired depth and height, then prepare a drawing and fixed price before production.

Can a console table stand behind a sofa?

Yes, this is one of the most useful positions. The top should sit around the height of the backrest so it reads as a clean finish rather than a second large piece of furniture. Its depth should keep the route behind the sofa clear.

Are the console tables available in brass and stainless steel?

ZEN CONSOLE is available in brushed stainless steel, while TUKKON CONSOLE and YORU use burnished brass. Other material combinations can be discussed as bespoke orders.
