Wall shelves as architecture

Metal wall shelves can act as a quiet ledge, a display surface or a modular system. KINKO, RYU, YUGEN, JIKU, ORIGAMI and CHOWA cover different scales and visual rhythms.

Brass and stainless steel

Burnished brass brings warmth and depth, while brushed stainless steel feels precise and restrained. Hand finishing gives every shelf an individual surface character.

Planning and installation

Dimensions and intended use should be considered before ordering. Installation and suitable fastening are coordinated for the selected product and the existing wall structure.

Frequently asked questions

Which depths are available, including 20 or 30 cm?

RYU starts at 16 cm and is the slimmest shelf. A precise depth of 20 cm can be made on request, and bespoke depths are common in this category. CHOWA sits around the 30 cm range.

Can several shelves be mounted in a row?

Yes. RYU is designed for this and comes in three lengths that can be combined in a line or staggered. A consistent alignment is important because even small offsets are visible along straight metal edges.

Are the shelves suitable for kitchens or bathrooms?

Brushed stainless steel is suitable for interior areas exposed to moisture. Burnished brass reacts more strongly to permanent humidity and steam, so its surface changes faster than in a living room. Stainless steel is therefore the preferred finish for these rooms.

What distinguishes a designer wall shelf from a hardware-store shelf?

Three aspects matter: material thickness that works without a back panel or cross brace, the quality of the edges, and whether the model can still be reordered in five years. Appearance alone is the easiest characteristic to imitate.
