In August 2025, we took the team to the Austrian Alps. Not in a sterile meeting room, not between whiteboards and fluorescent lights, but in a cabin above the lake, with wood underfoot, cold mountain air in the morning, and that quiet feeling that good ideas sometimes only come when you have moved far enough away from the normal pace.
Dawid had found a place that was more than just accommodation. The cabin sat high in the mountains, with large balconies, a lot of glass and a view that made every conversation slow down. Everyone had their own retreat, yet we spent most of the time together, because that is where the real energy emerged. Production, marketing, models, photographer, and friends of the brand did not sit at a table as departments, but as people who wanted to feel where ZinCuTec as a design brand could actually grow.
A new rhythm in the Austrian Alps
Mornings began quietly. One of the team led yoga and breathing exercises, then we trained, not in a studio, but outside, with mountain views and tired legs. It had nothing of a carefully planned wellness programme. It was more of a shared rhythm that grounded us before we moved on to concepts, motifs, and new ideas.
During the day, the cabin became a creative workspace. We carried furniture up steep paths, searched for light, set surfaces against rock and sky, and quickly noticed that brass and patina look different in this landscape than in the studio. While photography happened outside, conversations about campaigns, new products, and how to show the workshop not just as a production site but as the place where attitude, friendship, and craftsmanship come together unfolded inside.
In the evening, we cooked, ate, laughed, and talked late into the night. Sometimes about designs, sometimes about completely different things, but precisely that mix was important. A brand does not just emerge at a desk, but also in moments when people eat together, listen to each other, and realise they are building something larger than a single collection.
How the Alps journey shaped ZinCuTec
Looking back, this trip was neither a retreat nor a pretty outing for content. It was a brief glimpse of how ZinCuTec should feel. Precise in craft, warm in material, open in exchange, and bold enough to treat furniture not just as objects but as part of a life that is consciously shaped.
What remained from the Alps is not just photos and videos. What remained is a clearer sense of the brand, of the people behind it, and of the kind of spaces we want to create. Spaces that do not need to be loud to have presence, and furniture that does not need to explain why it is special, because you feel it in the first moment.
