I never understood why you should always play it safe. Safe is often just another word for interchangeable. Safe is off-the-shelf wood, smooth surfaces with no memory, and rooms that hurt no one but touch no one either. I wanted to build furniture and spaces that you feel, not because they are loud, but because material, proportion, and attitude come together.

At 22, I took over the company. It was not a clean start with a finished plan and reassuring answers, but a leap into something that only took shape while doing it. Step by step, an architecture firm became a personal project, because I never saw rooms as just walls, floors, and dimensions. For me, rooms show how someone lives, what matters to them, and what atmosphere should remain when no one is explaining anything.

From architecture to furniture design

The design division grew from that restlessness. I did not just want to execute. I wanted to create, refine, and treat materials in a way that gives them depth. Brass, copper, stainless steel, patina, burnishing, and oxidation gradually became more than techniques. They became a language with which we could build surfaces that age, react, and give a room weight. When brands like Patek Philippe and Rolex worked with brass, it was not a coincidence for us, it was confirmation that exactly in this niche, a world of its own exists.

At some point I sat in my almost-empty apartment and realised I was missing the furniture that belonged to this world. IKEA could not be it, not out of arrogance, but because I worked with materials every day that had character. So I began designing my own furniture from brass, copper, and stainless steel. In Germany there was hardly a market for it, precisely because the materials are demanding and do not forgive every mistake. For me, that was not an obstacle. It was the point where things got interesting.

2024 changed a lot. A project from Saudi Arabia brought a scale you do not handle on the side. More than sixty thousand cast bronze elements, high pressure, and the question of whether we could really manage this as a team. We could, because the right people joined and because everyone understood that ZinCuTec was not meant to become just another furniture name.

Handcrafted metal furniture with a point of view

Today, I am not interested in selling as many pieces as possible in the shortest possible time. What interests me is what a room does to people when material, light, and form interact properly. A piece of furniture never stands alone. It changes conversations, habits, glances, and sometimes even the way you arrive in a room.

Our pieces are born from this attitude. They are handcrafted in Germany, from materials that carry warmth, depth, and traces. The era in which every home automatically had to be dominated by wood is over. ZinCuTec is for people who do not want to decorate rooms but give them character, with furniture that stays, and with surfaces that become not weaker but more honest over time.
